Pain

Pain is an unpleasant sensation ranging from mild discomfort to agonised distress, associated with real or potential tissue damage.  Pain is a response to impulses from the peripheral nerves in damaged tissue, which pass to the spinal cord and messages the brain.  

How the body processes pain:

  1. Injury occurs in the body
  2. Nerves pick up the injury and send the message to the brain
  3. Brain processes the message and alerts the body of pain
  4. Pain patterns include
